1940s/1950s dress pattern with asymmetric swag, Butterick No. 544. Vintage Size 18 (modern Medium-Large) (Bust 38”, Waist 30”)). Original, not reproduction.

€11.00

Pattern for a cocktail-length dress with V-Neck and Asymmetric Drape.

Based on the style of the garment and the hairstyles of the illustrations, I estimate this pattern dates 1949-1953. The last pic shows a similar Dior “New Look” dress, circa 1953.

Unprinted pattern pieces, factory cut with notches. A detailed, two-sided instruction sheet is also included (see pics).

The pattern is missing pieces 7-9 (the drape and sleeves), but could still be constructed without sleeves or the swag (or these could be improvised). The remaining pattern pieces have some stains and small holes (due to a rusting pin) and the envelope has been taped, and has some rips, creases and other signs of wear. Sold as is.
