1940s/1950s goldtone bow brooch with dangling miniature book featuring fold-out, colour photo array of Lake District. Made in England.
Sweet souvenir brooch with tied ribbon from which dangles tiny postcard snapshots of England’s Lake District. 12 colour photographic plates in all (Windemere, Coniston, Grasmere, Hakeshead, etc.), plus the title-page, which reads, “Views of Lakeland, Please Pull Here, Copyright A. The plates neatly fold, concertina-style, inside miniature metal book covers, with a Lakeland colour image under perspex to the front.
Great conversation piece.
Simple C clasp. Impressed "Huggy, Made in England, Reg’d” to back.
Overall in very good vintage condition with some light scratched to the metal surfaces and some slight signs of wear to the paper photos.
Approximate measurements: total length (inclusive of bow pin) 5cm, book 2.8 x 2.5 X 0.9cm, concertina length 25cm; 8.5g.
