1960s-1970s Volcanic orange fondue pot, cast iron stand, tray and forks. France.
Calling all cheese and chocolate fans, this heavy, enamel and cast iron set will make all your dreams come true. Super flame-orange enamel to the pot, comes complete with its fin-handled lid. Stand has an MCM look to it and comes in a glazed cast iron, with wooden-tipped handles to the burner section.
Some chips to lid’s enamel, but pot itself is in nearly flawless condition (see pics). The teak-coloured tray has a couple burn marks to it, but has been thoroughly cleaned and oiled.
Pot, tray, and stand made by Cousances, a company taken over by Le Creuset in the 1950s. Also included are 12 vintage stainless steel fondue forks with wooden handles (not original to set) sold by Loeb, a Swiss department store.
Pot measures about 5" wide at opening, 7" handle to handle, 5 3/4" to top of fin. Holds about 1.5L. Stand measures: 9.5” x 4 1/4”. Tray measures 11” diameter. Total weight: 4kg.
