1960s dusky green thin-walled specimen vase. Designed by Geoffrey Baxter for Whitefriars. England.
€35.00
This stemmed, wasp-waisted bud vase was designed by leading British glass designer Geoffrey Baxter. It first appeared as Pattern 9607 in the 1964 Whitefriars catalogue, part of the 'Soda Glass' range of thin walled, Scandinavian-inspired vessels. It was offered through 1969.
Whitefriars calls this colour "Shadow Green", but it could also be described as a smokey grey. It’s a lovely, organic colour that serves well for flowers or foliage.
Good condition, just some superficial internal residue consistent with occasional use.
This form came in two sizes, and at 9" (22.9cm) height, this is the larger example.
