1960s/1970s Neon green, pink, orange, blue, purple, white, cotton flower power train smock. Small-XLarge. Made in Japan.
€60.00
Super bright and fresh smock with tie-back, depicting a purple and blue train engine pulling a line of flower-laden cars. Large front pocket on the right side; square neck. Two adjustable ties to the back.
Can be worn as a top, and makes an excellent cover-up for the beach.
In Japan, these smocks are called kappōgi and were designed to protect kimonos from being soiled during daily activities.
Tag reads: "Design House/100% Cotton” and below this would have read “Made in Japan”, but bottom of label is frayed.
Very good vintage condition with the neon colours still popping; the only noted flaw is a small stain (see pic), barely noticeable.
Approximate measurements: 38” armpit-to-armpit; 38” waist; 34” length.
