1970s 19 pieces of stainless steel and rosewood “Gallo" flatware, large spoons and forks. (11 forks, 8 spoons.) German.

€0.00

I believe this silverware is by Villeroy & Boch and made in either Germany or Japan in the 1970s. A similar set, called “Lord Nelson”, was made in bronze and rosewood, and the handles of this set may be rosewood, too.

Each piece is marked “Rostrei Gallo” to the backs—Rostfrei means ‘rust free’ (i.e., stainless steel). The knuckles on the stems makes for comfortable handling, especially when cutting food.

Would be a great addition to a nautical-themed or tiki-stay room.

Excellent vintage condition with some signs of wear, commensurate with age, but nothing noteworthy; one off the handles is darker than the others, but I believe this is an original feature.

Approximate measurements: forks are 19.7cm long x 2cm wide (at widest point); spoons are 19.7cm long x 4.3cm wide (at widest point).
