1970s X-Large, screen-printed linen tea towel with red kangaroo and joey. Design by John Rodriquez. Australia.
€40.00
Huge ecru linen tea towel with a bold graphic of a red mother kangaroo wearing blue spectacles and with a blue “Australia” hangtag on her tail. In her pouch is a blue joey and in her paws is a sprig of eucalyptus.
The bottom of the towel bears the words, “designed and handprinted on pure linen in australia” and Rodriquez’s signature. Rodriquez was a well known graphic designer in Australia from the 50s-80s, and his company still produces linens to this day.
In excellent, unused condition with no noted flaws. Ink and linen are still bright and crisp and this would towel would be excellent candidate for framing or display. Would also make a great housewarming or bridal shower gift.
