Beautiful wooden game box covered in tooled and gilded leather. No cards, but the original brown silk ribbon for lifting the cards and accessories is intact and in good condition.

My first thought was that this box dates from the 1930s or 1940s, but it bears a number of similarities (including the decorative font) to similar Edwardian boxes, so could be older.

Would serve well as a jewellery box or to hold other small items.

Interior is in excellent condition, with the lacquered wood clean and fresh. The exterior has numerous stains and other wear, as can be seen in the pictures. Brass coloured clasp is in good working order.

Approximate measurements: 8” x 5” x 2.2”. Tooled and gilded leather.
