Ornate silver cross with a prong-set amethyst at its centre—I think this stone is an amethyst and not glass, but don’t have the means to test. The gem flashes a bright purple when struck by light.

There are three hallmarks to the back, but all are too blurry to be legible, but I believe this cross is Edwardian-era; above the hallmarks is stamped “GB”, possibly for Great Britain. The chain is stamped “925” and dates from the 70s or 80s. The loop joining the cross and chain is neither original nor sterling and should be replaced at buyer’s convenience.

In good antique condition with some signs of light wear, commensurate with age.
