Vintage Sterling silver and cubic zirconia ‘diamond’ engagement ring. Hallmarked Dublin. Made in Ireland.
If this was a real diamond ring, I could quit working for the rest of the year! However, I believe the prongset stones are cubic zirconia (although it’s possible they’re just glass)—they throw out vibrant, rainbow sparks when caught by the sun. One large centre stone (measuring 0.8cm diameter), flanked by 4 smaller stones.
Overall, a very pretty piece that would be a great placeholder until you're ready to buy the real thing, or a lovely everyday ring if you're too cautious to wear a more expensive ring while going about your normal routine.
To the interior, the ring is marked “925” to one side, and on the other has the maker’s mark “EW”, the Dublin assay mark for silver, and another “925” in an oval.
In very good condition; could use a deep clean, but no noted flaws.
Internal diameter measures 1.9cm (about a US 9.25); from centre diamond to the back of the shank measures 2.7cm. At narrowest point, shank measures 0.3 cm wide.
