1930s Art Deco faux pearl and glass beaded purse with kiss closure
Fabulous little clutch covered entirely in glass pearls and satin-gloss glass bugle beads. To the front is a Deco pattern, like the tips of dangling ribbons. The back is entirely pearl-clad. Lined in white satin.
Would be a lovely “something old” for a bride.
Condition: this purse is in great condition for its age; although some of the pics make it appear as though there are rows of pearls missing, this is just where lines of beads have rolled over the frame’s edges; in fact, there are less than 20 beads missing, mostly around the top of the purse. There is some pearlescent loss to many of the beads, but because they are made of a pearl-coloured glass, the beads still display well; interior has some marks, mostly from the beads without, but is largely clean and ready to use; kiss closure locks snugly.
Measures approximately: 8” x 4” x 1”.
