1950s double layered, pink, silk satin, full length Lord & Taylor morning robe with floral quilting, pockets, and knot buttons. Made in Crown Colony Hong Kong. Small-Medium.
Heavy, dusky-pink silk satin morning housecoat fully lined in peach silk. This glamorous, warm dressing gown, featuring voluminous swathes of silk satin, would work equally well as a hostess dress in colder months. Would also serve beautifully as a robe for a bride preparing on the morning of her wedding.
Dolman sleeves with darted elbows, and rolled cuffs with pointed tips. A deep inseam pocket to either side. Nine self-fabric knot buttons. Peter Pan collar. Hanging loop to inside collar.
Some condition issues: two mends to back shoulders (see pic), three ball-point pen marks (see pics), large but faint water satin below the right pocket, some light yellow stains (see pic), a tear near the seam of left elbow, some fraying to back interior neck (see pic) and to the edge of collar (where it folds) as well as some staining to interior of neck; but overall this robe is in, ready to wear condition with the lining in excellent condition. Has been steamed and there are no odours.
Labels reads: “DYNASTY MADE FOR Lord & Taylor IN THE BRITISH CROWN COLONY HONG KONG” and “S”. Marked a Small, but measurements are generous: 36” bust, 42” waist, 44” hips, 17” wide shoulders, 26” long sleeves, 52” overall length; weighs about 800g.
