1950s gold lurex full-circle dress trimmed in gold braid. XXS.
Softly shimmering gold party dress with three-quarter lengths sleeves and gathered waist. Very full skirts with a bottom hem spread of 108“. Fitted bodice, with darting to bust, shoulder, waist, and elbows.
Aside from some stress to the bodice’s seams' stitching (especially at the bust and on one of the elbows), this dress is in very good vintage structural condition, with the lurex bright and sparkling.
The braided trim to the neckline and hem of sleeves has become detached in some small spots (and easy fix) and unraveled to the back of the neck in one spot (see pic). This braid has been hand-applied and may not be original to the frock; personally, I would remove it for a more streamlined look, but will leave for buyer to decide.
No tags; metal USA Talon zipper to centre back is in good working order.
Skirts are deeply hemmed, with 4" excess material, which could allow for dress to be lengthened. Hem tape needs to be stitched back into place in a few spots.
There is very little stretch in the fabric, so purchaser should assure they will fit a garment with these measurements: 36" length (shoulder to bottom hem); 24" waist; 32" armpit-to-armpit.
