1960s Gold lamé, Egyptian-inspired gown with jewelled neckline, waist and wrists. Made in British Hong Kong.
Spectacular, full-length brocade evening gown with v-neck.
Fabric is a soft, cashmere-like fawn-colour (most likely acrylic) with gold and silver lurex embellishments. Wrists, neckline and empire waist are heavily encrusted with red, clear, blue and amber rhinestones (both glass and plastic), crescent-shaped gold and silver sequins, gold and silver glass and plastic beads (including teardrops), and silver braid.
There are numerous breaks in the lurex thread and approximately 40 missing rhinestones, but the dress is otherwise in good structural condition, is clean, and presents well when worn. The gown is fully lined, with a silky synthetic in the bodice, a lighter chiffon at the arms and muslin-like fabric to the skirts. Hook and eye closures at neck and waist, and snap closures at wrists. White nylon YKK zipper to centre back.
Brand: KENT ORIGINALS.
Vintage size 10. Measures: pit-to-pit 34"; waist 28" (at empire position, right under bust); hips 44"; length 53" (back neck to bottom hem).
