1959-1960 Cotton dress with abstract pattern in white, avocado, pink, magenta, brown with oversized, textured ivory-coloured button to neck. Medium.
Stupendous modernist dress made in Germany, designed by post-War model turned atelier, Susanne Erichsen.
Colours are all extremely bright and fresh and the dress is in excellent condition aside from a small hole and some strain above the top of the zip (see photo). Skirts are fully lined in fresh white cotton. Interior hook and eye to waist to give extra shape. Interior snap-ribbons to hold bra straps in place.
Vintage Size 40. Measures: waist 27"; bust (pit-to-pit) 35"; length (back of neck to bottom hem) 40" (an extra 3" in hem if lengthening is desired); width of skirts (at bottom when spread, laying flat) 40".
Photographed without petticoat (except in original 1960 black and white shot in which model is wearing near exact dress with full petticoats).
