1960s Turquoise, amber, and cobalt-blue cased Murano Sommerso faceted block bowl. Italy.
€180.00
Heavy, intricately faceted, tri-colour sommerso bowl. Rare colourway in deep shades that bounce off one another, creating varied colours within the glass. Flat cut rim and polished pontil.
Would make a great jewellery dish, vide poche, or even caviar bowl!
No maker’s mark, but most likely by Alessandro Mandruzzato or (less likely) Flavio Poli.
One 4mm chip to top corner, and another smaller chip to adjacent side corner (see pics); some other scattered nicks and signs of wear, but overall still displays well with spectacular colours and faceting.
Measures: top diameter 5”, height 2.5”’; bowl opening is 2.5” x 1.5”. Weighs 1.1kg.
