1970s small, signed magenta and green glazed 'weed pot' vase. Attributed to Martin Branch of Lyre Pottery, West Cork. Made in Ireland.
€30.00
Diminutive studio vase with organically formed glaze in green and pinkish-purple. The colours and shapes of the glaze evoke the seaweeds in the West of Ireland.
This pot is unglazed to the bottom and is not to be used with water and is for drying or already dried flowers.
The vase is impressed to the bottom “EIRE” and what looks like perhaps “LB”, but the piece looks like one of now-retired potter Martin Branch’s, circa 1970.
In excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted; there is crackling to the green glaze, but this is a deliberate effect, not crazing.
Approximate measurements: 3.5” x 3.25”; weighs 250g.
