Ornate, Victorian patriotic pin marked “SOUVENIR”, below which dangles a badge that reads, “CELEBRATION FOURTH OF JULY 1900 CALUMET, MICH.”. To the centre of the badge is an American flag hot-enamelled in red, white, and blue.

The back of the piece is imprinted with a starburst and the words “SCHWAAB S. & S. CO/MILWAUKEE/U.S.A.”. The badge appears to me to be brass gilt in gold, but it has not been tested.

There is some wear to finish to front and some light corrosion to back (see pics), but otherwise the brooch is in excellent condition for all its 120 years!
