1940s/1950s Silver plated, kinetic windmill “Holland” brooch with two clogs dangling by blue silk thread. Made in Holland.
€25.00
Cheery souvenir pin consisting of a windmill with working (spinning) sails, inscribed “HOLLAND” to centre, and two silver clogs dangling by blue silk thread.
Terrific movement when worn. I know this is a Dutch piece, but I always think of Don Quixote when I see windmills!
I believe this is silver plated, but it may be solid silver—I have no means of testing at the moment.
Pin is sprung, so brooch sits very securely when C-clasp is closed.
Stamped “MADE IN HOLLAND” to back.
Good vintage condition with no glaring flaws; I’ve left the patina intact, but this piece could be polished to a bright silver by the purchaser, if desired.
Approximate measurements: 6cm long; weigh 6.7g.
