These handmade earrings are delicately painted, from the couple’s rosy cheaks, to the polkadots on the woman's headscarf--their foreheads even bear wrinkles.
Although these are unsigned, I believe these carving are by one of the Bourgalts, a family known in Canada for their intricate woodcarvings.
Combination screwback and clip-ons, metalware is marked PAT 3.176.475, dating them to around 1965 (although the wooden carvings are likely to be older).
In pristine condition.
Measuring approximately 2cm high x 1cm wide.
