1920s-1940s Black silk coin purse with floral Point de Beauvais embroidery. France.
€0.00
This small purse is made from black silk satin, gathered into neat pleats at the frame, and lined internally in black silk. Three pink flowers are tied in a bouquet with blue ribbon, flanked by two smaller flowerbuds--all finely embroidered.
The fabric is in very good condition, with just some slight purple lightening to the bottom of the internal lining. The gilt frame is in good working condition with a tight closure--there is some rubbing to the gold colour.
Suspect this coin purse originated in France where most tambour work of this kind was done.
Measures 3" x 3 1/2".
(The last picture shows the handbag with a similar handbag, also for sale.)
