1940s/1950s Gold tone “Coro” burning heart brooch and pendant with red beads and clear rhinestones. Rare. In need of restoration.
Very rare Coro brooch that can also be worn as a pendant (vintage chain included). One side of the brooch is covered with red beads, at the centre of which are tiny rhinestones. From the top are three fronds or flames.
This piece may depict a heart enflamed by love or, alternatively, the Sacred Heart.
Signed “Coro” to the back in script.
To the back is also a rollover clasp and a loop from which a chain can be strung; included in this listing is a 39cm long 1940s new old stock brass boxchain (see pic).
Some prior, poor restoration work has been done on the rhinestones, with an excess of glue around many of them two are also replacements and are a little bigger than the originals; another two rhinestones are absent; all of this could easily be rectified, however, an d the piece still displays well as is. The gold vermeil (which I believe is 14K) is still in great condition.
Approximate measurements of brooch/pendant: 5 x 3cm.
