Cylindrical Mid Century purse with metal zari thread depicting flowers and palm trees; drawstring to top with 4 gold tassels. Lots of work went into this piece and the zardozi work is really intricate, glittering brightly against the plush, black velvet. Great for evening wear.

Lining feels like silk but there are no loose threads to test.

Bought along with a zardozi belt* that had a label (see pic) reading “MADE IN INDIA, HAND MADE”.

Purse’s gold thread shows some signs of tarnishing in a places, but most of the gold still gleams brightly; the tassels on the drawstring are a bit frayed and distressed but the cord itself is in sound condition; a slight bit of warping to the cylindrical shape of the purse, but this is barely noticeable.

Approximate measurements: 10.5cm diameter at bottom, 19cm tall.
