1950s 14kt gold-overlay, rare, Krementz radial heart brooch/pendant with clear rhinestones
Finely made, 14kt gold overlay brooch/pendant in the shape of a heart or curled leaf with a spray of diamantes springing up from the centre.
The pin also has a loop that allows it to be strung on a chain and worn as a pendant. Included is a 39cm long 1940s new old stock brass boxchain (see pic).
Vintage ad (see pic) prices the necklace at $17.00…about $150.00 in today’s money. The design of this brooch was likely influenced by McTeigue, a fine jewelry company bought over by Krementz in the 1950s; McTeigue designed similarly shaped pieces for Tiffany’s in solid gold and diamonds.
Pin is stamped with maker’s name, Krementz, in tiny letters.
Excellent condition; only flaw is a slight bend to pin and some minor wear commensurate with age. Diminutive rollover clasp in perfect working order.
Brooch measures 4.2 x 3.2cm.
