Beautiful little Mid-Century edition that reads “My Bridal Book” on the title page. Would make a lovely "something old" keepsake for a bride-to-be.

Hard, opalescent 'Mother of Pearl-style' celluloid boards to back, front, and spine. Front cover is embossed with an ornate gold cross and border. The inside front cover has an indent displaying a celluloid and goldtone crucifix, framed by gilt embellishments, and with a backing of cream and gold patterned silk. Pastedowns on both front & back are in textured moiré. Includes its original taupe silk place marker. The page edges are gilt (with a red undertone), embossed and painted over with a floral vine motif in red and green.

Black and white illustrations throughout. First full page reads, "My Bridal Book - A Complete Catholic PrayerBook For The Catholic Bride In Accordance With Recent Pontifical Decrees".

Made in Belgium for The Anthonian Press, Temple Street, Dublin. Book is dated 1957. Contains close to 590 pages.

Condition is fair to good. Exterior shell is in great structural condition but has some scuffs and light stains; binding is strong and secure. There is a child’s handwriting on 3 of the pages (see pics), some blue pen marks to the inside of the front cover and the last page is missing; overall, some page corners are dog-earred, there is some foxing to some of the pages, especially those at the front (see pics) and some of the gold detailing has faded (see pics).  The HOLY MATRIMONY page has not been filled out.
