Large, curved-beak, stylised birds with protruding eyes dangle from wire in these striking earrings. At first glance, the birds appear to be rather two dimensional, but are in fact quite thick and sculpted. They have a Mexican feel to me, but the only mark on them is “935” (indicating sterling silver). Unusually, the earrings posts thread through the back of the earlobes.

I’ve labeled these as 70s-80s, but they may be older.

One of the wire posts has a slight warble, but the earrings are otherwise in excellent vintage condition.
