Elegant necklace depicting four sinuous swans in flight. Swans feature heavily in Celtic mythology and this necklace was likely inspired by the tragic Irish legend of Lir’s four children, transformed into swans by a jealous stepmother.

I have never seen another necklace of its kind, although it was produced by the popular Dublin jewellers, Solvar.

Stamped “SD” (for Solvar) and “925” (for sterling silver) to back.

Excellent vintage condition with no noted flaws.

Measures approximately: pendant 4.5 x 4cm; chain 72cm length; weighs 11.9g.
