1967 “The Best of Beardsley” coffee table book. Full page illustrations. Very good condition.
€0.00
This big tome pays homage to early Modernist Aubrey Beardsley’s ‘The Yellow Book’ quarterly series. It features 111 full-page plates of the artist’s black and white Victorian, Art Nouveau pen and ink drawings.
A contemporary of Oscar Wilde and Arthur Rackham, Beardsley was influenced by the perceived exoticism and erotism of 'the Orient’, especially the crafts and arts of Japan.
The book is in very good vintage condition with the only major flaws being sun fading to the dustjacket’s spine and a small nick to the bottom front of the dustjacket. The book cover itself is in very good condition (see pic).
Measures: 11” x 8.5” x 1”.
