R.G. Tarot set based on the Insight Institute’s 1948 tarot. This is the rarer and more subtly coloured pale red, yellow and green 1970 version, brought out by Richard Garner himself—not to be confused with the more vividly tinted 1974 Rigel Press edition.

The card’s box reads: “THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC SET of Tarot cards. The originals may be seen in the British Museum. They have not been altered or adorned in any way. Serious students should beware of adulterated packs. So often precious secrets have been omitted of destroyed. The Major Arcana of the Tarot reveal, in pictorial form, a marvellous doctrine of Life and Lovemaking. The Minor Arcana are magical tools. They are clear and uncluttered as such tools should be to enhance the concentration of the Magician. This pack has been brought out by Richard Gardner, an authority on the Tarot. See his books “Evolution Through The Tarots” for the doctrine and “The Tarot Speaks” for fortune telling.”

Cards are in very good condition with very little wear to edges; the only notable flaw is a number “10” that has been written in ink on one of the face of one of the cards (see pic) and an attempt has been made to remove the ink, scuffing the face fo the card. The box is missing a flap and has several ripped ages that have been repaired by (now) yellowed tape (see pics). All 78 cards are present and in useable condition.

Also included is a Collins gem 2005 pocket-sized “Tarot” book, by Rowenna Stuart, first published in 1998. Includes 100 colour illustrations and all the information needed to start reading the cards: how the deck is structured, how to handle the cards, how to prepare and organise a reading; also illustrates each of the 78 cards giving the individual meanings and different interpretations.
