Highly collectible diamanté brooch by Monty Don, of gardening fame, depicting a violin, viola, cello, or double bass (hard for me to tell which it is!). Don and his wife Sarah ran a costume jewellery business in the 1980s that garnered rave reviews and even landed some of their pieces in the V&A, before going out of business after only a decade.

The brooch, made in the figural style of the 1950s, features a bevy of glittering, prong-set round rhinestones, 5 baguettes, and twirled wire. Hard to capture the exceptional sparkle in the stones.

Signed “Monty Don” in script to back. Fully functional rollover clasp. Pristine condition.

Measures: 4.5” x 1.5” (at widest point).
